Yes, some things will restrict us from performing a cosmetic brow tattoo treatment. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Under 18 years of age
• Acne, dermatitis, or rosacea on your brows
• Allergies related to cosmetic brow tattooing
• Bleeding disorder
• Cancer or undergoing cancer treatment
• Diabetes (unless you have an official medical exemption)
• Keloid scarring
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Sunburn or windburn
• Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• Under the influence of drugs or alcohol

Yes. We want to make your treatment as painless as possible. However, an anaesthetic must be prescribed by a doctor. You must organise and purchase this yourself before your cosmetic brow tattooing appointment. Please note that it is NOT possible to use over-the-counter topical anaesthetics. They are too low in anaesthesia and do not have a vital ingredient to help prevent bleeding during the treatment and may lead to pigment not staying in your skin as well as it should.

Some of the most common things you can expect after a cosmetic brow tattooing treatment are:

• Tenderness in the area.
• Pink or redness around the affected area.
• Swelling.
• Thickening and darkening of the area.
• Moderate to thick scabbing 3-4 days after your treatment.
• Scabs will begin to flake off anytime between days 5-10.
• After scabs flake off, colour and strokes will look light, grey and blurry/missing.
• The pigment will return to full colour after the area is fully healed, approximately 4 weeks after your treatment.

Cosmetic brow tattoos are permanent. They do not wash off, but they will slowly fade over time, and you will need to get them touched up every 12-18 months. The frequency of your touchups depends on many factors, including the colour of your brows, your skin type, and your lifestyle.

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. To reschedule, please get in touch with us 48 hours before your appointment to avoid losing your deposit of $200. A deposit of $100 will be required to be paid upfront to rebook for touch-ups within 3 months. Please note, the treatment cannot be performed on pregnant clients. We advise holding off breastfeeding for 24 hours post-treatment.

Cosmetic brow tattooing is not for everyone. First, we need to ensure that cosmetic brow tattooing is suitable for you. Every client has different wants and needs; therefore, we have an initial consultation to help us understand what you want and if this is suitable for you. We map your eyebrows during the initial consultation according to your natural hair growth patterns, bone structure, and eye measurements. Then we talk with you about anything else you would like to change about your eyebrows. We encourage you to bring any pictures of eyebrows you would like during the initial consultation.

The following restrictions ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for an amazing treatment. Please read carefully:

• Avoid heavy sunlight and especially sunburn 3 days before the treatment. Your skin should not be in the process of healing before the treatment!
• Exfoliate your brow area the night before your appointment to remove any dead skin which will help pigment retention.
• Any tweezing, tinting or waxing should be done at least 72 hours prior to the treatment otherwise your artist can remove any excess hair with a razor on the day.

• You will be required to keep your eyebrows dry for 7 days after the treatment so we recommend washing your hair before or the day of your treatment. 

• Do NOT drink coffee or anything with caffeine the day of the treatment.
• Do NOT take fish oil, Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen, or Omega-3, unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours before the treatment. (Panadol or paracetamol is okay)
• Do NOT drink alcohol 24 hours before or after the treatment.
• Avoid within 4 weeks of the treatment: Botox/fillers around the eyebrow area, chemical peels, laser treatments/facials, retinol/vitamin A around the eyebrow area.

Yes, you will need two. Your second appointment allows us to touch up any light spots. We can also build texture in your skin. This should be done 6-8 weeks after your first appointment. Sometimes our clients must return a third time. Although this is rare, it depends on your aftercare regime and how your skin heals.

After your cosmetic brow tattooing treatment, gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes for 30 minutes until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

Days 1-7

Keep your brows completely dry. Only apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton bud and spread it across the treated area once a night. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp brow tattoo.

Important Reminders

• Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep.
• Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.
• Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.
• No facials, Botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
• Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for 1 week.
• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after your treatment, and wear a hat outdoors.
• Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days.
• Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
• Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days.
• Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area.
• DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.
• Limit your shower time so that you do not create too much steam. Also, keep your face/treatment area out of the water while washing your body.
• A touch-up treatment is recommended 6-12 weeks after initial treatment.
• Long term care: avoid using any skincare products over your brows as active ingredients can discolour the pigment.
